Desert Duo Week: Allies & Enemies

I don’t like this one as much as some of the other pieces Ive done this week but “Allies or Enemies” by the Crane Wives was stuck in my head ALL DAY. Anyway hope u enjoy :D!! Can’t just do Grian angst now can I <3.

For those begging for dbhc mumbo angst, unfortunately (?) this is just about as bad as it gets for him (as far as I have planned, anyway). All I can think of when it comes to dbhc mumbo is how silly goofy pathetic he is so for now he gets spared from serious angst <3

An attempt to run and hide is being made, but endymen are as fast as they are strong. You are barely alive, holding onto a half-a-heart hope and you aren't quite sure this tiny hidey-hole is enough to keep you safe from the enderman's long reach...

Maybe if you cover your eyes the enderman will stop being angry at you? Oh who are you kidding; you just hope, that whoever your soulmate is, they won't hold a grudge against you for loosing both of your green lives like this...

And you want to know what the worst part is? You didn't even get to see the bastion, much less the enchanter. This trip to the nether sucked,

Honestly I don't have much of an explanation outside of I like the irony of a Blind Watcher. And. Well. Grian is right there for things to go awry like that. So,

This was created for the 2024 Reverse Big Bang hosted by @mcytblraufest !! Us artists had to create artwork for the writers to claim this time around! >:)

and speaking of writers.. my art garnered the attention of not one, but two writers, who both created fanfics based off of my art!! It's been such a cool experience seeing how differently they've both taken things and they're both VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!!!

Parts make up a whole, but Mumbo hasn't been a part of anything for a very long time. He was okay with that though. The world was more than welcome to continue outside his window, as long as he had his oven and his cable tv all to himself. But every once in a while, the outside world comes inside, and he has to chase it back out with a broomstick. This time, his technique backfires in a way he never could have imagined. Or... Mumbo could count the number of his friends without even raising a hand. Who knew that a 30,000 year-old creature stealing his bed comforter could change that?

Now, Mumbo has to continue trying to figure out where Grian went, all while learning what this creature even is, and how to help him without harming him in the process. To make matters worse, the only person who can help him unravel this mystery is the one person Mumbo swore he would never work with: Scar.

The Falling Star

(congrats on the win, Scar!)

Scar is, to me, reminiscent of a falling star. Once among his fellow stars in the night sky, he is now all alone, pulled down by a gravity he cannot resist and taken on a destructive course, against his will. And then, right before impact, maybe he’ll no longer be alone. For those fleeting seconds, the falling star will once again have company, right before he crashes into it and leaves only death and old memories in his wake.

Scar and all the ghosts are stuck eternally in secret life because Jimmy failed to fulfill the role of canary so everything broke, it's also why he could come back as Grian's guardian angel, cause no one can leave.
